Today is D-Day 65th Anniversary. What is D-Day? It is a term used by the military to denote the first day of an operation. The D-Day 65th Anniversary we are commemorating now denotes the first day of the initiation of Operation Neptune and Operation Overlord, during World War II. On June 6, 1966 the Allied forces landed on Normandy. This was the beginning of the demise of Hitler's hold of Europe.
