The Philadelphia Phillies demonstrated how World Series title holders defend their crown by beating the Colorado Rockies 5-1 on the opening playoff Wednesday. Cliff Lee was the driving force that made the Phillies' win possible; he pitched like a veteran and not just an off-season rookie. He caused five batters to be struck out and allowed no walks to happen.
