Serena Williams fined!

The punishment that Serena Williams received for acting unprofessionally in last Saturday's game is a $10,000 fine. As of this writing an investigation is being made to determine whether more punishment should be put on Williams. The $10,000 fine slapped on Williams is the maximum fine that a can be given to an athlete who displays unsportsmanlike conduct at a Grand Slam tournament. Another $500 fine was added to her punishment, this one is for her smashing of her racket during the game.

The U.S. Open said in a statement that the Grand Slam Committee Administrator will "determine if the behavior of Ms. Williams warrants consideration as a major offense for which additional penalties can be imposed."
