Ex-presidential candidate John Edwards admitted on Thursday that he fathered a child with his former mistress, Rielle Hunter, while campaigning for the Democratic Party's White House nomination.
Edwards, who is a former senator from North Carolina, told the media that he acknowledges Frances Quinn Hunter, a 2-year-old child, as his daughter.
"I am Quinn's father. I will do everything in my power to provide her with the love and support she deserves,it was wrong for me ever to deny she was my daughter, and hopefully one day, when she understands, she will forgive me"
