Hurricane Bill Update. Hurricane Bill is now raised to the dangerous Category 4 storm. The National Hurricane Center has advised the people of Leeward Island to monitor the hurricane's progress because it is expected to pass by the northereastern portion of the island by late Wednesday or early Thursday. Bill has a sustained speed of 135 mph. It is also expected to hit Bermuda three or four days from now. Bill was about 460 miles east of the Leeward Islands and moving west-northwest near 16 mph early on Wednesday.
